The Moose & Squirrel Medical Clinic is a collaborative, team-based family medicine clinic located in Sundre, Alberta. We have been recognized as the Outstanding Family Practice in Alberta by the Alberta College of Family Physicians, and are one of only six clinics in the province to be recognized nationally as a Patient's Medical Home by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Our team includes experienced family physicians and nurses and highly trained staff who work together to provide world-class medical care in accordance with recognized best practices. We develop and use strategies to ensure that our patients have timely access to care.
We are dedicated to providing comprehensive care that brings into play all aspects of health; this includes preventative health monitoring and working with our patients to promote healthy lifestyles. We recognize that physicians, nurses and other health professionals bring different skills to patient care, and by working together we can provide better care of our patients than any of us could on our own.
We also believe that it is important to practice what we preach, and we model healthy behaviour by respecting and promoting physical and mental health, balance, and fulfillment for all of our team members. We accomplish this balance by working as a supportive team to look after ourselves, and each other, in the same way we work together to look after our patients.
Teaching and mentorship play a vital role in our practice, and we strive to be known as the pre-eminent site in rural Alberta for teaching medical students, family medicine residents, and other learners in the health professions. We believe that teaching and mentorship help us to identify and groom future colleagues for rewarding careers as rural family doctors. We also believe in the importance of a formal and strong mentorship program for new physicians entering practice, and provide a supportive, nurturing environment for all team members as they begin their careers.
We achieve our vision by being relentless in our quest to improve ourselves, and our business. We are innovators, leaders and lifelong learners, and do not hesitate to make changes if they might make us better. We are devoted to creating a family medicine clinic that is recognized and emulated as a model for excellence in providing outstanding primary medical care and promoting good health for all.
The physicians at the Moose & Squirrel Medical Clinic are members of the Peaks to Prairies Primary Care Network.
