Our Services

Preventative Health Examinations
We offer our patients preventative health examinations (“PHEs”) at regular intervals to ensure they receive appropriate screening. You will be asked to have your screening tests done before your appointment so your doctor can review the results with you.
For patients with complex or chronic medical problems, the PHE may include a dedicated visit with a nurse who specializes in preventative health care, to help develop strategies for sustainable lifestyle changes including weight loss, nutrition, exercise, improved mental health, and smoking cessation. Your combined total time with your nurse and doctor for a complex PHE may be an hour or more.
All PHEs include a complete physical examination by your physician, a review of your test results, and if necessary the development of an individualized follow-up plan.
Prescribing Policies
The Moose & Squirrel Medical Clinic follows evidence-based guidelines for all prescriptions, including antibiotics, narcotics and medications for stress-related conditions.
Uninsured Services
The Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan pays for many of the services you receive from your doctor.
However, the government plan does not cover certain “uninsured services”. Some are billed to lawyers, government agencies or others. Some are billed to you. You or a third party (such as your employer, insurance company or school) may request a letter, report, or form, from your physician.
These services require the time and expertise of your doctor and staff. As a result, you or the third party will be billed a fee to cover these costs.
Your doctor will discuss any fee with you before providing an uninsured service. Payment will be expected when you receive the service. To make other payment arrangements, please talk with your doctor or the staff.
We accept cash, cheques or debit or credit cards.
The following is a list of uninsured services for which this clinic may bill you. These fees are assigned as per the recommendations of the Alberta Medical Association and are subject to change.
